2016-04-07 19:30:00 OUSP quarterly dinner with Sir Brian Unwin
We are delighted to invite you to our next quarterly dinner. This time, Sir Brian Unwin will give a talk on "Fanny Burney and the French Connection". Sir Brian read Classics at New College, of which he is now an Honorary Fellow. After a distinguished career in the Civil Service, he turned his hand to history and has written two books about the Napoleonic era.
Fanny Burney (1752-1840) was an English novelist, diarist and playwright, who married a French officer in exile during the French Revolution and who then spent many years in France during the Napoleonic period and was in Brussels during and after the Battle of Waterloo, of which she wrote an account in her published journal.
Details of the venue in central Paris and of menu choices have been included in the notice with the registration form circulated to members. For any further question, please contact Carol Amouyel-Kent.
