Montmartre: guided walking tour and visit of Musée Montmartre

This month's walking tour, conducted by our regular guide, takes us to Montmartre, famous for the generation of artists who lived and worked there at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century: Picasso, Vlaminck, Derain, Modigliani, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir to name just a few. The tour will highlight the period of the Bateau lavoir,  the studio where numerous painters, writers and musicians lived or worked, and where several of them produced some of their most significant and well-known creations.

From there, we will wend our way through the picturesque Montmartre streets to visit the ancient church of St Pierre, and  the Clos Montmartre vineyard, which still produces wine and will soon celebrate its annual fête des vendages. The tour will also include a guided  visit of the permanent collection of the Montmartre museum: situated in the heart of the village, it houses many famous works and recreates the festive atmosphere of the Belle Epoque.
